Senior Manager, Propulsion Systems (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Redondo Beach, United States

Salary: $175,000–$200,000 per year, plus potential stock options and benefits.

hirify.global is an in-space transportation company developing spacecraft and propulsion systems for orbital, lunar, and other planetary missions.

What you will do

• Own propulsion system design, analysis, implementation, testing, and operation across multiple spacecraft and lander programs.
• Define and create propulsion systems for future spacecraft, including cryogenic and storable propellant architectures.
• Lead design reviews, system trades, and technical decisions for fluids, controls, and major propulsion components.
• Create and execute propulsion system ground and flight test campaigns.
• Manage and develop a propulsion engineering team supporting multiple programs and vehicles.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to deliver reliable, high-performance flight vehicles.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in aerospace propulsion.
• Experience with cryogenic propellants and liquid rocket propulsion development.
• Knowledge of fluids, thermodynamics, heat transfer, mechanics, and materials.
• Hands-on experience with fluid, mechanical, electrical, and controls systems.
• Applicants must be U.S. Persons or eligible to obtain a U.S. export license under ITAR/EAR regulations.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering.
• 6+ years in lead roles on ground test or flight propulsion systems.
• Experience with liquid methane systems or long-life, on-orbit systems.
• Experience in a startup or agile development environment.
