Salary: $132,000–$198,000 USD annually

What you will do

  • Advance turbine design for space and rocket turbopump applications.
  • Perform aerodynamic and structural analysis of turbomachinery components.
  • Collaborate with propulsion development and manufacturing teams to improve future designs.
  • Support turbine and turbopump development through design, analysis, testing, and iteration.
  • Contribute to turbopump assembly activities, including rotor balancing, interference fits, clearance checks, structural proofing, and leak checks.
  • Drive projects to completion while working through ambiguous and technically challenging problems.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree or related technical qualification.
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience with turbine design and aerodynamic and structural analysis.
  • Experience with low-cycle fatigue (LCF) and high-cycle fatigue (HCF) methodologies.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard turbomachinery design and analysis.
  • Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with multidisciplinary groups.

Nice to have

  • Experience with transient thermal/aerodynamic analysis or forced response analysis.
  • Experience measuring in-situ mode shapes and blade deformation.
  • Experience overseeing turbomachinery development or test campaigns.
  • Proficiency in Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
  • Experience in a startup or agile development environment and in a flight development program.
