Company

hirify.global is a space infrastructure startup developing Low Earth Orbit satellites for orbital power, infrared laser energy transmission, on-orbit computing, and secure high-bandwidth optical data.

What you will do

  • Own the mechanical design of turbopump components and assemblies from concept through fabrication, hot-fire testing, and flight.
  • Create CAD models, released design definitions, tolerances, GD&T, material and process specifications, and component requirements.
  • Integrate hydraulic, aerodynamic, structural, secondary-flow, and thermal constraints into coherent hardware designs.
  • Drive fabrication, first-article reviews, assembly, configuration control, pedigree tracking, and nonconformance disposition.
  • Build verification plans, determine what must be proven by analysis or test, and close both activities.
  • Support test readiness, instrumentation, real-time testing, data reduction, anomaly troubleshooting, and corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD and in producing manufacturable design definitions with GD&T and tolerance stack-ups.
  • Working knowledge of turbomachinery fundamentals and hands-on experience taking hardware through design, build, and test.
  • Experience selecting materials and manufacturing processes for high-stress, high-cycle applications.
  • Preferred experience level: 5+ years in turbomachinery or turbopumps.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or another ITAR-eligible protected individual with the required authorization.

Nice to have

  • Experience with liquid rocket engine turbopumps, reusable propulsion systems, or adjacent rotating machinery.
  • Experience designing and analyzing impellers, diffusers, volutes, turbines, secondary flows, dynamic seals, and structures.
  • Familiarity with cryogenic hardware and material behavior, plus additive, forging, and casting manufacturing methods.
  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in a fast-moving, hardware-focused startup or early-stage program.

Culture & Benefits

  • Equity in hirify.global.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and eligible dependents.
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan, paid time off, and 10 paid holidays annually.
  • Paid parental leave and relocation assistance when applicable.
  • Daily office lunch and a stocked kitchen with beverages and snacks.
