Lead Hardware Engineer (VPX)

Location: Remote from New Hampshire, USA; US citizenship required

Salary: $108,900–$150,000 per year plus bonus

What you will do

• Lead the design and development of 3U and 6U VPX single-board computers, FPGA, switch, and I/O cards for high-speed data processing.
• Develop custom-form-factor systems integrating hardware, software, firmware security, power supplies, and thermal-management solutions, including Liquid-Flow-Through methods.
• Translate customer requirements into system architectures, functional designs, and hardware solutions while balancing performance, cost, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Lead design reviews, technical decisions, testing, qualification, troubleshooting, and production-support activities.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management, test, and operations teams to meet demanding customer requirements.
• Establish engineering best practices, maintain technical documentation, and mentor engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• At least 8 years of experience in DoD embedded systems and hardware design, including SBC, FPGA, switch, and I/O card development.
• Extensive experience with mixed-signal, high-speed digital, analog, low-power, and high-current circuits in high-reliability environments.
• Strong experience designing high-density interconnect PCBs with complex multilayer layouts, multilamination, blind and buried vias, and uVia structures.
• Hands-on experience with Siemens Expedition DX Designer and Siemens Expedition PCB tools.
• US citizenship is required; active DoD security clearance is preferred. Additional security screening may apply for export-controlled information.
