TL;DR
FPGA Engineer (Aerospace): Designing, implementing, and testing FPGA networking and DSP blocks for phased-array ground-station antenna systems with an accent on high-rate parallel data processing and resilient satellite communications. Focus on driving system architectures, debugging high-speed FPGA designs with laboratory equipment, and analyzing field performance through prototype, shipment, and operations.

Location: Torrance, California, United States; onsite preferred, with mostly remote work and some travel to the office acceptable

Salary: $120K–$170K annually, plus equity, discretionary performance bonuses, and long-term incentives

What you will do

  • Design, implement, and test networking and DSP blocks on FPGAs for high-rate parallel data processing.
  • Develop digital designs for antenna systems, including data transport and signal-processing chains.
  • Lead multidisciplinary projects from initial design and prototyping through shipment and operations.
  • Drive system architectures, analyze design trade-offs, and define system requirements.
  • Analyze field-test performance data, diagnose issues, and provide feedback for product improvements.

Requirements

  • 2–4+ years of professional experience and a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or an equivalent field.
  • Expertise in Verilog and SystemVerilog.
  • Experience with Python, DSP and/or FPGA networking, and FPGA SoCs.
  • Experience using oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers to debug high-speed FPGA designs.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain the authorizations required under ITAR regulations.

Nice to have

  • Experience with HLS.
  • Experience with C++ or Rust.
  • Experience with high-performance PCBA architecture and design involving FPGAs.
