Etch Process Engineer (Semiconductor)

hirify.global’s SPTS division designs, manufactures, and markets wafer processing solutions, including plasma etch and deposition technologies for semiconductor, MEMS, advanced packaging, LED, RF, and power semiconductor applications.

What you will do

• Develop and demonstrate plasma etch processes on SPTS product platforms to meet agreed specifications.
• Process customer wafers using etch demonstration equipment and assess results with analytical equipment and software tools.
• Perform process troubleshooting, root cause analysis, metrology, endpoint detection, and long-duration testing.
• Develop and optimise processes for customer requirements at factory and customer sites.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders, including patent applications and publications.
• Provide technical support to customers and field teams while contributing to cross-functional product and technology projects.

Requirements

• Master’s degree, or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with relevant industrial experience; equivalent qualifications and hands-on semiconductor process engineering experience are also considered.
• Experience with plasma etch processing in a semiconductor environment.
• Experience with semiconductor metrology techniques and practical knowledge of endpoint detection.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, verbal, organisational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to undertake some international travel and occasional shift work as required by the business.

Nice to have

• Experience with scanning electron microscopy (SEM); training can be provided.
