API Technical Lead

Location: Bangalore, Karnataka, India. Monday to Thursday onsite; Fridays offer flexibility to choose the work location.

What you will do

• Design, develop, secure, manage, deploy, publish, and support enterprise APIs across cloud, SaaS, on-premises, and hybrid ecosystems.
• Build API proxies, reusable shared flows, custom policies, and gateway capabilities with Google Apigee.
• Implement authentication, authorization, OAuth 2.0, token-based security, throttling, rate limiting, and secure service exposure.
• Develop resilient, stateless, and scalable API and integration architectures using REST, SOAP, messaging, microservices, and distributed integration patterns.
• Improve API catalogs, developer enablement, logging, caching, monitoring, observability, analytics, and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with architects, application and infrastructure teams, developers, and business stakeholders to standardize API practices and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 7–10 years of experience in development, engineering, API platform, enterprise integration, or technical lead roles; 8+ years of hands-on API design and integration delivery experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Deep hands-on experience with Google Apigee API Management/Gateway, including API proxies, shared flows, traffic management, analytics, and policy enforcement.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful API design, API security, authentication and authorization, API gateways, OpenAPI 3.0, Swagger, SOAP, JSON, messaging, and microservices.
• Experience with JavaScript, Java, Node, Python, GitHub, GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines, automation, and DevSecOps practices.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, architecture documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
