Staff Engineer – Java (Distributed Systems)

hirify.global develops the EXA Data Services product line, including S3 Data Service and related storage platforms.

What you will do

• Design and develop scalable, high-performance components for the S3 Data Service platform.
• Build maintainable backend services using Java and Spring.
• Participate in architecture discussions and make technical design decisions.
• Collaborate with product management, QA, DevOps, and L3 support teams.
• Improve system performance, scalability, reliability, and engineering standards.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across application, infrastructure, and distributed-system layers.

Requirements

• 10–14 years of software development experience with strong Java expertise.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Core, Spring Boot, Spring Data, REST APIs, and microservices architectures.
• Strong understanding of system design, architecture patterns, distributed systems, fault tolerance, and data consistency.
• Experience with Cassandra, Hadoop, Elasticsearch, S3 object storage, or related storage technologies.
• Strong knowledge of Linux systems, networking, and infrastructure-level debugging.
• Experience with Maven or similar build systems and the ability to analyze complex problems.

Nice to have

• Python scripting experience.
• Familiarity with Docker, Podman, or Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Exposure to distributed file systems or high-availability storage solutions.
• Understanding of security and fault-tolerant architectures.
