Principal Software Engineer (IoT)

What you will do

• Design and build distributed systems and services supporting tens of millions of connected IoT devices.
• Lead the architecture and implementation of Java/Spring Boot microservices and AWS cloud-native deployments.
• Develop applications using device telemetry and metadata, with data streaming and high-throughput processing.
• Create technical designs and collaborate with development, infrastructure, testing, production support, Product, QA, and DevOps teams.
• Build operational capabilities for zero-downtime upgrades, rollback, monitoring, data collection, self-healing, and repair.
• Lead technical improvements, conduct code reviews, and mentor engineers while ensuring security, quality, and performance.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software design and development experience, including distributed systems, microservices, SaaS at scale, design patterns, and layered architectures.
• 5+ years of cloud technology experience, preferably AWS, plus experience with data streaming and Kafka.
• Strong experience with Grails, MySQL, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, Kafka, and Elasticsearch.
• Experience with Java/Spring Boot, JavaScript/Node.js, HTML5, AJAX, and React.
• Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, AWS deployment pipelines, GitHub, and GitLab.
• Hands-on GenAI experience within the last 1–3 years, including LLM integration, prompt engineering, orchestration frameworks, and inference optimization; a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
