Location: Manchester or Milton Keynes, UK; hybrid working with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office

Salary: £73,600–£85,800 in Manchester or £76,700–£89,300 in Milton Keynes

What you will do

• Design and guide technology solutions that meet business requirements and align with enterprise architecture standards and strategic objectives.
• Provide architectural advice and leadership to business stakeholders, project teams, technology colleagues, and third-party providers.
• Lead architecture governance, including design authorities, standards, compliance assurance, technology roadmaps, and systems life cycles.
• Define and verify technical standards covering applications, infrastructure, integration, security, resilience, storage, processing, and networks.
• Support modernisation of cloud and legacy IT estates, including horizon scanning, technology assessments, and cost-benefit analysis.
• Collaborate with programme and project management functions on product roadmaps, delivery plans, and cross-project architectural dependencies.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Solution Architect delivering IT solutions across multiple architectural practices in complex enterprise environments.
• Expert knowledge of enterprise applications, Service-Oriented Architecture, enterprise architecture, information modelling, infrastructure, deployment models, and architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or Zachman.
• Strong understanding of operating systems, databases, networks, communications, cloud platforms including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS, virtualisation, and integration services.
• Extensive experience working with cloud or mixed IT footprints, modernising legacy estates, and applying effective architecture governance.
• Ability to communicate, influence, plan, and collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all organisational levels.
• Ability to work from the Manchester or Milton Keynes office at least 2 days per week.
