TL;DR
Applications Architect (Enterprise Application Architecture): Defining and governing scalable, secure application architectures for complex transformation programmes with an accent on integration patterns, legacy modernization, and cloud-native platforms. Focus on designing target architecture roadmaps, guiding migration from incumbent service providers, and aligning application design with enterprise standards and business objectives.
Location: Farnborough, United Kingdom; onsite 5 days per week. Right to work in the United Kingdom and eligibility to meet UK Government and contractual personnel security requirements are required. Some roles may be subject to nationality requirements.

What you will do
- Define target application architectures, reference architectures, roadmaps, design principles, and application portfolio rationalization plans.
- Design scalable, modular, reusable application architectures and integration patterns across core systems, third-party applications, and digital platforms.
- Drive legacy application modernization through rehosting, refactoring, replacement, cloud-native platforms, and microservices.
- Establish architecture standards, maintain documentation, and lead architecture review boards.
- Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, engineers, and delivery teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Provide architectural guidance, review application designs, and ensure alignment across design, development, and deployment.
Requirements
- Strong experience in application architecture, system design, enterprise application architecture, and design patterns.
- Strong experience in application migration projects from an incumbent service provider to a new service provider.
- Experience with system integration and application modernization approaches.
- Knowledge of managed application services.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, stakeholder management, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
- Ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
