Senior Commercial Real Estate Underwriter (Commercial Real Estate)

Location: Fully onsite in Seattle, Washington

Salary: $100,000–$175,000 per year, with possible performance-based incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Underwrite complex commercial real estate loans, including construction, bridge, and permanent financing.
• Prepare concise credit recommendations covering quantitative analysis, risk ratings, policy exceptions, and loan coding.
• Analyze appraisals, market conditions, sponsor debt, refinance risk, global cash flow, and repayment risks.
• Monitor borrower financial performance, spread financial statements, test covenants, and resolve approval or documentation violations.
• Collaborate with Relationship Managers and Analysts to identify, communicate, and mitigate credit risk and support customer relationship expansion.
• Review or oversee the work of underwriters and credit analysts and provide coaching or subject-matter training when required.

Requirements

• 7–10 years of commercial underwriting, credit analysis, or relevant lending experience.
• Advanced credit, accounting, financial statement spreading, and cash-flow analysis skills.
• Advanced knowledge of credit policies, procedures, and practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, time-management, communication, presentation, and relationship-management skills.
• Proficiency with personal computers and software including Word and Excel.
• Compliance with applicable banking regulations, policies, procedures, and required training.
