What you will do

• Underwrite new commercial credit requests, material modifications, and restructurings from initial deal screening through approval and the life of the loan.
• Manage portfolio credit risk through annual reviews, interim updates, covenant monitoring, problem-loan management, early-warning indicators, and other surveillance activities.
• Analyze financial statements, tax returns, appraisals, due diligence reports, credit data, industry research, and peer information.
• Prepare cash-flow analyses, collateral schedules, covenant sensitivity calculations, guarantor analyses, financial models, and risk-rating recommendations.
• Partner with relationship managers, analysts, clients, and credit committees to structure transactions and present credit recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with commercial credit policies, regulatory requirements, internal controls, audit findings, and risk standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field, plus 5 years of relevant commercial credit or financial analysis experience; an alternative path requires 9 years of combined higher education and work experience, including 5 relevant years.
• Strong analytical skills, including financial modeling, credit metrics, financial ratios, trend analysis, and scenario evaluation.
• Ability to understand and negotiate legal documentation, perform structural analysis, and independently structure transactions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, critical thinking, attention to detail, organization, and time management.
• Customer-focused interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to work in Stamford, Connecticut.

Nice to have

• Experience with Capital IQ, FactSet, Bloomberg, or nCino.
• Commercial real estate experience.
