Location: Long Beach, California, United States; second shift starts at 3:00 PM PT.

Hiring range: $104,000–$156,000 USD annually.

What you will do

  • Own vehicle subassembly hardware from design release through build, testing, and delivery across fluid, electrical, and structural systems.
  • Develop and release build flows, work instructions, and test procedures for repeatable, high-quality execution.
  • Support first-article builds and create scalable processes for higher production rates.
  • Provide hands-on floor support, resolve build and test issues, incorporate technician feedback, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with design, supply chain, production, test, technicians, and vendors on part readiness, tooling, schedules, and handoffs.
  • Help develop manufacturing infrastructure, including tooling strategies, ERP/MES workflows, and production documentation standards.

Requirements

  • Engineering or related technical degree and 2+ years of hands-on experience building and testing hardware in a manufacturing or integration environment.
  • Experience investigating hardware issues, resolving non-conformances, and implementing root-cause corrective actions.
  • Knowledge of assembly and test procedures, tolerance stack-up analysis, structural proof testing, and pressurized leak checks.
  • Ability to collaborate across design, manufacturing, supply chain, and test teams.
  • Proficiency in GD&T, CAD, and basic design or test analysis.
  • Experience in at least two of the following areas: LOX cleanliness, leak checking, sensor checkouts, tube bending, tool design, crane operations, or subassembly builds.

Nice to have

  • Experience with new aerospace product introduction or transitioning hardware from prototype to production.
  • Experience authoring and executing test procedures or serving as a test conductor for integrated system verification.
  • Familiarity with hazardous operations, fluid system safety, or pressurized and high-risk test environments.
  • Experience in lean environments, vendor engagement, tool development, or leading small teams.
