Production Support Engineer II (SAS Viya)

Location: Chicago, IL; hybrid arrangement with 2 days per week on-site

Salary: $83,100–$115,400 annually, based on experience, qualifications, and location. The role may also include incentive compensation and a discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Support the SAS Viya 3.5 AML platform used for customer risk rating, transaction monitoring, and regulatory reporting.
• Investigate application incidents, prioritize issues by impact and severity, identify root causes, and implement preventive solutions.
• Write complex SQL queries and troubleshoot extract, transform, and load pipelines.
• Manage Linux virtual machines and a PostgreSQL database hosted on Microsoft Azure.
• Oversee production changes, bug fixes, and version upgrades for the AML platform.
• Perform disaster recovery tests and collaborate with stakeholders, technology partners, and external vendors.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of technical experience in application or production support within banking or financial services.
• Experience with Linux virtual machines, command-line interfaces, SQL queries, and cloud computing, preferably Azure.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to prioritize work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be legally eligible to work at the specified US location and have a valid work or study permit where applicable.
• This position does not offer visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience or familiarity with SAS Viya.
• SAS Certified Specialist: Administration of SAS Viya certification or relevant preparation.
• Relevant Microsoft Azure training or certifications.
