Production Support Engineer II (SAS Viya)

Location: Chicago, IL; hybrid arrangement with 2 days per week on-site at 70 W Madison St, Chicago

Salary: $100,000–$120,000 per year, based on experience, qualifications, and location.

What you will do

• Support the SAS Viya 3.5 AML platform used for customer risk rating, transaction monitoring, and regulatory reporting.
• Investigate application issues, prioritize incidents, identify root causes, and implement preventive solutions using ITIL practices.
• Write complex SQL queries and troubleshoot extract, transform, and load pipelines.
• Manage Linux virtual machines and a PostgreSQL database hosted on Microsoft Azure.
• Oversee production changes, bug fixes, version upgrades, and disaster recovery testing.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, technology partners, and external vendors while explaining technical concepts clearly.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of technical experience in application support within a bank.
• Experience with Linux virtual machines and command-line interfaces.
• Experience writing SQL queries and familiarity with cloud computing, preferably Azure.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States at the specified location; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with SAS Viya and relevant certifications.
• SAS Certified Specialist: Administration of SAS Viya certification.
• Microsoft Azure training.
