DevOps Engineer (Cloud)

Location: Hybrid role in Fort Meade, Maryland, United States, with 3 days per week onsite at DISA HQ

Salary: $120,000–$160,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and maintain immutable infrastructure across Azure, AWS, GCP, and on-premises environments using Terraform, Ansible, ARM, or CloudFormation.
• Build and optimize secure, automated CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI.
• Manage Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications across EKS, AKS, and GKE.
• Implement monitoring, centralized logging, and alerting with Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, and CloudWatch.
• Apply DevSecOps practices, IAM policies, network security, and CIS/NIST compliance controls in classified and sovereign-cloud environments.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and improve deployment processes across mission-partner network enclaves.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and an active Secret security clearance are required.
• Active DoD 8140 IAT Level II Security+ certification or higher is required.
• Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of related professional experience.
• Expertise with at least one major cloud platform: Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Required experience with Terraform, plus Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, scripting, CI/CD pipelines, and Linux.
• Knowledge of classified environments, sovereign clouds, intelligence community IT frameworks, and DevSecOps practices.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline.
• Professional DevOps or Solutions Architect certification for Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Experience with multi-cloud immutable infrastructure, high-availability Kubernetes deployments, compliance guardrails, and unified observability.
