Electrical Design Engineer (Power Systems)

Location: Bucharest, Romania — hybrid remote/office

What you will do

• Design and deliver Grid Technology projects focused on FACTS solutions, including Synchronous Condensers and STATCOM systems.
• Support the engineering of AC high-voltage substations and HVDC converter stations.
• Evaluate customer and EPC requirements, prepare proposals, schedules, technical specifications, and inquiry documentation.
• Design electrical system configurations, single-line diagrams, layouts, cable routing, and related project documentation.
• Calculate and size electrical equipment in compliance with IEC, IEEE, EN, VDE, and other applicable standards.
• Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, review documentation, support factory acceptance tests, and provide commissioning support.

Requirements

• University degree in Electrical Power Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the EPC market and project engineering.
• Knowledge of transformers, MV and LV switchgear, battery chargers, cables, cable trays, and related electrical equipment.
• Knowledge of BIM methodology, engineering design criteria, document review, scheduling, progress tracking, and budget reporting.
• Experience analyzing local standards and codes, managing subcontracted work packages, and collaborating with cross-functional international teams.
• Business-level English is required; willingness to travel internationally for less than 30% of the time.
