Staff Avionics Electrical Engineer

Location: Hybrid role based in the Hawthorne, California office

Salary: $203,000–$243,000 per year

What you will do

• Support avionics system architecture, requirements development, analysis, and trade studies.
• Own mixed-signal PCBA development from initial concept through qualification and flight.
• Develop PCBA requirements, architectures, and concepts of operations with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Capture schematics and design complex power, digital, and analog PCB layouts using Altium Designer.
• Perform power integrity, signal integrity, SWaP, tolerance, and reliability analyses.
• Lead design reviews, verification and qualification testing, system integration, manufacturing support, and flight operations support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 15+ years of experience designing, analyzing, and testing power, digital, and analog electronics.
• Experience with voltage regulators, FPGAs, SoCs, high-speed data interfaces, precision analog instrumentation, and clocking architectures.
• Proficiency in complex PCB schematic capture and layout, plus circuit simulation and analysis using SPICE, Excel, and related tools.
• Experience with power supplies, oscilloscopes, DMMs, signal generators, soldering tools, and other electronic laboratory equipment.
• Experience designing for space environments, including radiation effects, mitigation strategies, and long-duration reliability.
