Worker's Compensation PIAWE Specialist

Location: Macquarie Park, New South Wales, Australia

Employment: Full time; 12-month fixed-term contract with an opportunity to explore permanent opportunities within DXC.

What you will do

• Obtain and verify earnings data from payroll and conduct detailed analysis of pre-injury earnings.
• Calculate Pre-Injury Average Weekly Earnings (PIAWE) and weekly compensation rates in line with applicable state legislation, regulations, guidelines, and internal procedures.
• Deliver timely calculations and collaborate with Eligibility Case Managers and stakeholders to support accurate and efficient claims handling.
• Maintain complete records of calculations, methodologies, supporting evidence, risks, discrepancies, and noncompliance for audits and process reviews.
• Identify and escalate complex cases that may affect claim decisions, respond to stakeholder queries, and provide clear timeframes and updates.
• Participate in team meetings, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Experience in workers compensation, insurance, payroll, or a related field.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience calculating PIAWE and weekly compensation rates in line with relevant legislation and guidelines.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills, including the ability to interpret payroll data, manage competing priorities, and meet timeframes.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and complex numerical calculations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
