Senior Test Automation Engineer (Python)

Salary: $159,000–$173,000 per year, plus an additional $40,000–$43,000 in immediately vested company 401(k) contributions.

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test suites for REST APIs and web-based user interfaces.
• Architect and extend scalable test automation harnesses covering execution, reporting, test data, environment management, and CI/CD integration.
• Build Python and Pytest automation, including fixtures, data strategies, assertions, and database validation.
• Create and maintain Docker or Podman images and integrate containerized test execution with Jenkins and GitLab pipelines.
• Support Robot Framework and Selenium UI automation, troubleshoot CI failures, and improve test stability, parallelization, and execution efficiency.
• Plan and execute government test and evaluation activities, including performance analysis, data collection, modeling and simulation, evaluation planning, risk assessment, reporting, and coordination with government sponsors and integrated test teams.

Requirements

• Top Secret/SCI clearance with Full Scope Poly is required.
• At least eight years of test and evaluation experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, science, engineering, statistics, engineering management, or a related discipline; four additional years of test and evaluation experience may substitute for the degree.
• Strong Linux command-line and Bash scripting skills, including processing and reporting on large datasets, logs, and test artifacts.
• Advanced Python test automation experience with Pytest, plus hands-on Docker or Podman experience.
• Experience with Jenkins, GitLab pipelines, REST API testing, Robot Framework with Selenium, automation framework architecture, and SQL validation.

Nice to have

• Experience migrating Robot Framework automation to Microsoft Playwright, Robot Framework AIO, or another modern platform.
• Experience improving CI performance, parallelizing tests, and optimizing containerized execution.
• Strong debugging experience across services, CI logs, containers, and test reporting outputs.
