Legal Engineer (AI/Legal Tech)

What you will do

• Analyze, prioritize, optimize, and digitally transform legal and compliance processes through automation, workflow management, and simplification.
• Design, develop, configure, and continuously improve AI-powered solutions, AI agents, workflows, user experiences, digital products, prompts, and automation concepts.
• Develop Legal Tech strategies, operational plans, governance frameworks, standards, and best practices, and manage legal technology platforms.
• Integrate legal applications, APIs, and enterprise systems while maintaining secure data flows, configuration management, and technical troubleshooting.
• Manage Legal Tech products from ideation and pilots through testing, rollout, adoption, impact measurement, continuous improvement, and enterprise scaling.
• Act as the interface between Legal, Compliance, IT, Digital teams, business stakeholders, and vendors; gather requirements, support change management, train users, and report progress to leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, Legal Tech, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Informatics, or a comparable interdisciplinary field.
• Professional experience in Legal Operations, Legal Technology, Legal Engineering, or a similar role, including Legal Tech strategies, processes, standards, and governance frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with Legal Tech, artificial intelligence, automation, digital transformation, enterprise technologies, and legal software such as CLM, e-billing, document management, matter management, or e-discovery platforms.
• Knowledge of process improvement, workflow management, change management, agile methodologies, user-centric design, process engineering, systems analysis, API integration, configuration management, and ideally SQL.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, stakeholder management, relationship-building, product orientation, and communication skills across legal and technical functions.
• Fluent English required; German language skills are advantageous.
