Senior Harness Design Engineer (Spacecraft)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; full-time position located at the Long Beach location.

Salary: $135,000–$190,000 USD annually.

hirify.global develops next-generation commercial space stations, including the multi-module Haven Station, to support continuous human presence, microgravity research, manufacturing, and a new space economy.

What you will do

• Develop electro-mechanical flight, development, and test wire harnesses for the Haven space station.
• Design electrical architectures, wiring diagrams, connector layouts, interface control documents, and system integration documentation.
• Develop harness routing solutions in a 3D Siemens NX CAD environment.
• Evaluate power distribution and data communication strategies, including signal integrity, power budgeting, load analysis, and signal routing.
• Perform thermal, loads, vibration, shock, testing, and qualification analysis for spacecraft harnesses.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering, production, and integration teams to deliver manufacturable harness designs and conduct trade studies for mass and cost savings.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another engineering discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience in design-focused engineering roles.
• At least 2 years of experience with 3D wire harness design, wiring diagrams, and formboard creation.
• Must be a U.S. person under U.S. export control regulations or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.
• Ability to work overtime or weekends when required to support critical mission milestones.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted.

Nice to have

• Experience designing harnesses to IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC/WHMA-A-620-S, and NASA-STD-8739.4 standards.
• Experience with Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
• Experience with wire harness component selection, qualification, analysis, testing, and manufacturing documentation.
• Ability to solve complex design problems independently within tight schedules.
