TL;DR
Senior Harness Engineer II - Secret Clearance (Spacecraft Electrical Harnesses): Designing, developing, and integrating electrical harness systems for spacecraft with an accent on wiring diagrams, interface definition, component selection, and fabrication documentation. Focus on defining acceptance criteria, troubleshooting electrical issues, and integrating harnesses across systems engineering, mechanical engineering, and AIT teams.
Location: Long Beach, California, United States. For work in U.S. offices, candidates must satisfy applicable ITAR authorization requirements and be eligible to work in the United States.
Base pay range: $145,000–$210,000 USD annually.

What you will do
- Design and develop spacecraft electrical harness systems, including connectors, backshells, wires, shielding, and routing.
- Generate wiring diagrams, pinout tables, interface definitions, bills of materials, fabrication drawings, and related design documentation.
- Interpret spacecraft electrical architectures and define interfaces with systems engineering.
- Support harness fabrication, acceptance criteria, electrical testing, inspection, integration, and qualification activities.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineering and assembly, integration, and test teams to integrate harnesses into spacecraft.
- Perform electrical analysis and troubleshoot harness issues during fabrication, integration, and testing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or another engineering discipline.
- 8+ years of electrical engineering or avionics experience.
- Active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
- Experience with electrical design principles, wiring diagrams, interface definition, and electrical system architecture interpretation.
- For U.S. office roles, eligibility under U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including ITAR, is required.
Nice to have
- Master’s or PhD in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or another engineering discipline.
- Experience in aerospace or defense, satellite development programs, and satellite operations.
- Experience with Capital Essentials, NX, Teamcenter, and JAMA.
- Knowledge of power distribution, signal integrity, grounding, communication systems, harness standards, and electrical testing.
- Understanding of thermal and mechanical considerations for harness routing and spacecraft integration.
