Location: Long Beach, California, United States. U.S. office roles are subject to ITAR eligibility requirements.
Base salary: $124,000–$170,000 USD per year, plus potential equity and benefits.

What you will do
- Design and develop electrical harness systems for spacecraft, including connectors, backshells, wires, shielding, and routing.
- Generate wiring diagrams, pinout tables, interface definitions, fabrication drawings, and other harness documentation.
- Interpret spacecraft system architecture and define electrical interfaces with systems engineering.
- Create and maintain harness Bills of Materials in the PLM tool and support fabrication using Capital Essentials, NX, and Teamcenter.
- Define and verify harness acceptance criteria through electrical testing and inspection.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineering and AIT teams, participate in design reviews, and troubleshoot electrical issues during fabrication, integration, and testing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or another engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of electrical engineering or avionics experience.
- Knowledge of electrical design, wiring diagrams, interface definition, and electrical system architecture.
- For U.S. office employment, eligibility under U.S. ITAR regulations is required, including U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, qualifying refugee or asylum status, or applicable authorization.
- Ability to work in production areas with prolonged sitting, standing, walking, and computer work, with occasional moderate noise, dust, and fumes.
Nice to have
- Master’s or PhD in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or another engineering discipline.
- Aerospace or defense industry experience, including satellite development or operations.
- Experience with power distribution, signal integrity, grounding, communication systems, and protocols such as RS-422, SPI, Ethernet, and CAN bus.
- Familiarity with NASA-STD-8739.4, IPC/WHMA-A-620, JAMA, and harness electrical testing.
- Ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance and knowledge of thermal and mechanical harness integration considerations.
