What you will do

  • Analyze, design, and test custom FPGA firmware for the Terran R launch vehicle.
  • Lead FPGA development across multiple products from concept through flight maturity and vehicle operations.
  • Perform RTL design, board bring-up, design verification, qualification, production support, integration, and validation.
  • Debug hardware and analyze data to ensure reliable digital electronics performance.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, electrical, software, propulsion, GNC, fluids, and stage engineering teams.
  • Apply project management skills to keep hardware development reliable and on schedule.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of FPGA development and high-speed digital systems experience in mission-critical applications such as launch vehicles, spacecraft, aircraft, or robotics.
  • Experience with FPGA development across RTL design, verification, synthesis, timing analysis, bring-up, and validation.
  • Familiarity with VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog.
  • Experience with hardware bring-up, validation, debugging, and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with FPGA toolchains and SoC platforms from AMD Xilinx, Intel, Microchip, or similar vendors.

Nice to have

  • DSP experience in RF applications, including forward error correction, channel estimation, front-end theory, and modulation schemes.
  • Familiarity with SpinalHDL, Chisel, Vitis, SystemC, or Simulink for code generation or High-Level Synthesis.
  • Familiarity with the RISC-V development toolchain.
  • Experience with rigorous software development processes, version and configuration control, code coverage, traceability, and CI/CD build pipelines.
