Engineer III, Hardware Development (Remote)

Location: USA - Remote. Candidates must be current US citizens or Green Card holders and may be required to pass additional background and fingerprint checks for government customer requirements.

Salary: $120,000–$180,000 per year, plus potential bonuses, equity grants, health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.

What you will do

• Execute validation tests for server platforms, storage media, GPUs, PCIe Gen6, DC-MHS, and other emerging technologies.
• Support validation plans for new server designs, including power, thermal, and performance benchmarking.
• Contribute to automation frameworks for hardware testing, firmware validation, and component qualification.
• Coordinate with ODM and OEM partners on server integration projects.
• Document test results, procedures, and technical findings for new platforms.
• Maintain hardware testing infrastructure and collaborate with software teams on BIOS, kernel, and firmware configuration optimization.

Requirements

• Current US citizenship or Green Card status required.
• 5+ years of experience in server hardware development, testing, or validation at a SaaS, public cloud, CSP, or similar company.
• Hands-on experience with hardware validation methodologies, benchmarking tools, and test automation.
• Knowledge of modern server architectures and CPU, memory, storage, and networking components.
• Familiarity with BMC implementation and management interfaces including Redfish and IPMI.
• Proficiency in Linux server environments and Python or Bash scripting, with understanding of PCIe, NVMe, and DDR standards.

Nice to have

• Experience with composable infrastructure or disaggregated server architectures.
• Interest in AI/ML hardware accelerators and infrastructure.
• Familiarity with open hardware platforms such as OCP and OpenBMC.
• Understanding of datacenter power and cooling considerations.
• Experience with containerization and cloud infrastructure concepts.
