Strategic Buyer (Supply Chain)

What you will do

• Develop commodity strategies, long-term agreements, and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Negotiate with suppliers across the USA, China, Mexico, and other regions to improve savings and payment terms.
• Manage supplier selection, qualification, evaluation, development, and performance processes.
• Analyze supplier offers, cost structures, and Total Cost of Ownership to identify improvement opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with global procurement processes, guidelines, and IT systems.
• Collaborate with Engineering, R&D, Production, Quality, and other internal stakeholders.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in procurement or supply chain, specifically in buying.
• Knowledge of purchasing fundamentals, RFQs, negotiation concepts, and strategic sourcing methodologies.
• Experience with e-auctions, spend pooling, Total Cost of Ownership, and supplier performance management.
• Technical and commercial knowledge, including technical drawings, specifications, Incoterms, and supplier objection handling.
• Experience with SAP or a similar ERP system and advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. A bachelor’s degree is desired; a high school diploma or equivalent is accepted.
