Location: Onsite in Long Beach, California, United States. The role requires access to information subject to U.S. export controls; candidates must be U.S. persons or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.
Salary: $93,480–$132,696 for Avionics Manufacturing Engineer I and $120,540–$171,108 for Avionics Manufacturing Engineer II. California pay range: $93,000–$171,108 USD.

What you will do
- Collaborate with design teams to improve the manufacturability and assembly of avionics components and wire harnesses.
- Develop and optimize avionics manufacturing processes, equipment, assembly procedures, work instructions, and production plans.
- Perform hands-on assembly, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for avionics systems.
- Work with suppliers to review and approve manufacturing processes and ensure timely delivery of quality components.
- Establish quality control processes and participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Improve manufacturing efficiency, reduce waste, and support reliable production for human-rated space stations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in aerospace or avionics.
- Strong understanding of avionics systems, electronics manufacturing processes, and assembly techniques.
- Experience reviewing designs and creating manufacturing documentation with CAD software such as Siemens NX.
- Knowledge of relevant avionics manufacturing standards and regulations, including IPC standards.
- Ability to work onsite in Long Beach and meet U.S. export-control eligibility requirements.
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience testing and troubleshooting avionics systems.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
