Senior Manufacturing Engineer I - Avionics & Test (Aerospace)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; onsite manufacturing environment

Base pay: $115,000–$155,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Prepare manufacturing feasibility studies and lead manufacturing technology research and development projects.
• Partner with design engineering to apply design-for-manufacture principles and improve product robustness at scale.
• Design, procure, install, and validate assembly, testing, and verification processes for production factories.
• Support development builds, production ramp-up, production-line ownership, yield improvement, and build-efficiency initiatives.
• Diagnose failures, perform technical investigations, determine root causes, and implement risk mitigation and corrective actions.
• Collaborate across functions to resolve complex issues and improve manufacturing, test, integration, and business processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of technical experience in manufacturing, production, or process engineering.
• Hands-on experience debugging complex electro-mechanical systems in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience identifying and solving systemic problems in complex manufacturing systems and analyzing data acquisition results.
• Ability to manage multiple complex assignments autonomously and coach or mentor others.
• For U.S. office work, eligibility under ITAR export regulations is required: U.S. citizenship, lawful U.S. permanent residence, refugee or asylum status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.

Nice to have

• Experience with environmental acceptance or production acceptance testing, including vibration, shock, thermal, and vacuum testing.
• Knowledge of instrumentation, interfaces, sensors, power supplies, oscilloscopes, serial devices, switch topologies, accelerometers, thermocouples, RTDs, and 4–20 mA sensors.
• Experience designing and supporting production lines or build areas and transitioning products from design to production.
• Experience with DFMEA, PFMEA, fault tree analysis, Pareto analysis, root cause analysis, and corrective action.
