Avionics Manufacturing Engineer III (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Support avionics production from design release through production delivery by removing blockers and solving manufacturing issues.
• Optimize and automate manufacturing and test processes to improve quality and throughput.
• Oversee the introduction of new products and product revisions.
• Resolve production non-conformances and implement root-cause corrective actions.
• Partner with design and cross-functional stakeholders to improve manufacturability, standardization, equipment, machines, and facility layouts.
• Develop and maintain planning, production, quality, ERP, data collection, and analysis processes, while supporting integration, testing, and launch operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, aerospace engineering, or an equivalent field.
• 7+ years of experience in the design, manufacturing, and/or production of mechanical or electrical hardware.
• Experience with electronic box build, battery build, or cable harness build.
• Ability to solve complex problems independently with a hands-on, continuous-improvement approach.
• Effective communication in technical and non-technical discussions.
• Must meet U.S. Government ITAR authorization requirements: U.S. citizenship, U.S. lawful permanent residency, protected individual status, or eligibility to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

Nice to have

• Experience establishing low-volume, high-mix production processes and tracking systems.
• Experience developing manufacturing processes for new electronic products and setting up newly procured equipment.
• Experience with 3D CAD software, work instructions, operator standards, manufacturing execution systems, and quality management systems.
• Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-A-610, and IPC-J-STD-001 standards.
