Senior Linux Systems Engineer / Linux SME (Red Hat)

Location: Lakewood Ranch, Florida, United States; US citizenship required. An active TS/SCI clearance with FS or CI Polygraph is required. The role includes occasional after-hours, on-call, hardware installation, and physical infrastructure support.

What you will do

• Administer, sustain, troubleshoot, modernize, and secure mission-critical Linux systems.
• Support Red Hat infrastructure through configuration, patching, performance tuning, networking, user administration, logging, and hardening.
• Integrate Linux with storage, virtualization, networking, applications, and mission services across on-premises and cloud-adjacent environments.
• Support architecture, design, integration, testing, deployment, and build pipelines with a focus on reliability and repeatability.
• Use automation and configuration management to reduce manual effort and improve recovery and system reliability.
• Collaborate with software, DevOps, data, security, and mission stakeholders while providing incident response and operational support.

Requirements

• US citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance with FS or CI Polygraph are required.
• An active CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification is required; DoD 8570 IAT2 certification is required.
• 10 or more years of experience in Linux system administration, infrastructure support, and mission system operations.
• Deep hands-on Red Hat Enterprise Linux experience, including RHEL 7 or newer, with RHEL 8 or newer preferred.
• Experience with Red Hat Satellite, NetApp storage, VMware ESXi and vCenter, NAS/SAN administration, Bash, Python, and automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, independent work, and on-call support abilities.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS or cloud-adjacent environments.
• Experience with Rancher, Kubernetes, containerization, and DevSecOps frameworks.
• Experience with Fibre Channel switches and mission applications requiring high uptime and operational reliability.
• Experience with Python, Bash, Perl, Ruby, Java, or C++.
