Weekend Systems Engineer (Linux)

What you will do

• Analyze, diagnose, and resolve Linux-based server issues during non-standard business hours.
• Act as the primary point of accountability for deferred maintenance, production triage, and operational risk.
• Create, test, deploy, and maintain operating system packages, batch files, and scripts.
• Identify infrastructure optimizations that reduce latency and improve efficiency.
• Manage move, add, and change requests, configurations, vendor coordination, and internal technology partnerships.
• Support long-term infrastructure strategy and capacity planning.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in Linux or Unix administration.
• Strong scripting skills with Python, Bash, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols and topology, including NFS, DHCP, IP, TCP, UDP, TFTP, and NTP.
• Knowledge of Kickstart, Ansible, Git, and package management.
• Availability for a full-time weekend schedule: five standard days from Thursday through Monday or four longer days from Thursday through Sunday.
