Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Private Cloud & Virtualization)

Location: Fort Worth, Texas; hybrid with 3 days onsite

Salary: $40–$44/hour on W-2

Contract infrastructure engineering engagement with a 12+ month duration and possible extension.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and evaluate systems and operating-system-level software.
• Build and support private cloud and virtualization environments across on-premises infrastructure and cloud-bursting scenarios.
• Modify databases and database management systems, including logical and physical database descriptions.
• Coordinate database development with project teams and assess project scope, effort, and cost.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and implement system changes to resolve them.
• Support enterprise services, telemetry, hardware, operating systems, and infrastructure automation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• 5–7 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with VMware or similar platforms, including VCF, vSphere, VCSA, vSAN, SRM, vROPS, Log Insight, and vRA.
• Knowledge of private cloud, virtualization, Kubernetes, networking services, and infrastructure automation.
• Experience with BASH, PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Terraform, Packer, and Git.
• Ability to work independently, troubleshoot systems, communicate effectively, and provide basic mentoring.

Nice to have

• Experience with Dynatrace, VMware Log Insight, and VMware vROPS telemetry.
• Experience with Ubuntu, RHEL, Windows Server/Core, HP ProLiant, and SAN/NAS environments.
