Location: Los Angeles, United States. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or nationals, lawful permanent residents, refugees, asylees, or eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations under export regulations.
Salary: $140,000–$220,000 per year, with Senior-level compensation of $140,000–$185,000 and Staff-level compensation of $155,000–$220,000.

is a Series C startup developing mass-producible, inherently safe microreactors for terrestrial, underwater, and space applications.
What you will do
- Design, analyze, build, and test turbomachinery for nuclear reactors.
- Own turbomachinery components from concept and clean-sheet design through manufacturing and qualification testing.
- Prepare engineering documentation supporting design, manufacturing, and testing.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, test, and quality engineers to develop hardware.
- Investigate development and qualification-test issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Improve designs for cost, manufacturability, lead time, and lifecycle performance while supporting design reviews and technical decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Physics.
- 5+ years of turbomachinery design experience with expertise in sizing and mechanical design, compressor or turbine aerodynamics, structural and life analysis, bearings and rotordynamics, secondary flows and axial thrust, or mechanical seals.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly and make tradeoffs involving performance, manufacturability, cost, and schedule.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills with a problem-solving mindset.
- Must meet U.S. export-control work authorization requirements.
- Flexibility to support hardware development milestones, including occasional weekends or extended hours.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Physics.
- 7+ years of professional turbomachinery design experience.
- Proficiency with NX, GD&T, ANSYS Mechanical, CFX, BladeGen, and TurboGrid.
- Experience supporting hardware through development, qualification, and production.
- Experience leading technical projects and coordinating work across engineering disciplines.
