Senior Supplier Quality Engineer II - PCBA (Aerospace)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; onsite at hirify.global's headquarters. Travel up to 40% domestically and internationally may be required.

Salary: $124,800–$171,000 USD base pay per year, plus potential equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Serve as the technical point of contact for assigned PCBA parts and assemblies, resolving supplier quality issues and mitigating production risk.
• Own production components end to end by improving manufacturing methods, identifying suppliers, and developing reliable rate-ramp processes.
• Conduct design-for-manufacturing reviews and partner with procurement to assess supplier quality capability and takt-time alignment.
• Translate quality and manufacturing requirements into supplier specifications and flow them down to the supply base.
• Evaluate depaneling, AOI, X-ray inspection, and other electronics inspection technologies.
• Lead root-cause resolution, containment, nonconformance disposition, rework, repair, and use-as-is decisions with cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in a regulated industry such as aerospace, medical, automotive, or a similar field.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Mechatronic Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience in a supplier quality role.
• Proficiency with GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation.
• Experience with structured problem solving using 8D, A3, or an equivalent root-cause analysis methodology.
• For work in U.S. offices, eligibility to access ITAR-regulated technology is required; candidates must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, qualifying refugee/asylee, or eligible to obtain the required authorizations.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of PCB fabrication and PCBA assembly processes, including SMT, through-hole, selective soldering, wave soldering, and hand soldering.
• Fluency with IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610, IPC-7711/21, and IPC-6012 standards.
• Experience with first article and qualification processes, UL certification, traceability, layer-stack verification, ICT, flying probe, functional testing, AOI, and X-ray inspection.
• Experience with electronics failure analysis, contamination control, ESD, MSL compliance, counterfeit-parts mitigation, and NADCAP Electronics accreditation.
• Familiarity with AS9100, NADCAP, SPC, Cp/Cpk, MSA/Gage R&R, PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, FAIR, MRP/ERP, Jira, Confluence, or Power BI.
