NPI Application Engineer Pick & Place (SMT)

Location: Timisoara, Romania; onsite, full-time

What you will do

• Deliver manufacturing-ready SMT and Pick & Place processes to support flawless product launches.
• Program, configure, operate, and optimize ASM Pick & Place machines, including feeders, nozzles, and other production tooling.
• Review technical documentation, PCB layouts, component footprints, and assembly risks; participate in DFM/DFA reviews and manufacturability assessments.
• Define manufacturing flows, create machine programs, establish process parameters, and execute pre-series process trials.
• Validate and optimize processes through process characterization, DoE, process-window validation, Cp/Cpk analysis, and machine and product capability studies.
• Transfer validated processes to serial production through documentation, work instructions, control plans, knowledge handover, MES and traceability support, and team training.

Requirements

• Higher education in a technical field, or comparable training, or a master’s degree or technician qualification in electronic production.
• At least 5 years of experience in electronic serial production involving ASM Pick & Place processes.
• Knowledge of IPC 610A.
• Good command of Microsoft Office.
• Good command of English.
• Analytical skills, teamwork ability, and communication skills.
• Availability for business trips.
