TL;DR
Project Engineer Cooling Systems (Energy Transmission): Designing, procuring, and managing cooling systems for STATCOM and energy transmission projects with an accent on system sizing, technical specifications, supplier coordination, and customer requirements. Focus on evaluating equipment offers, resolving technical interfaces, leading supplier testing, and supporting installation and commissioning activities.
Location: Hybrid role in Bucharest, Romania; international business travel and possible on-site support during installation and commissioning are required.

What you will do
- Review customer specifications for cooling systems in STATCOM projects and integrate requirements into engineering documentation.
- Size and configure cooling systems and outdoor cooling equipment, including pumps, motors, piping, fittings, recoolers, and measurement and control technology.
- Prepare technical inquiries, specifications, performance descriptions, and functional descriptions; evaluate supplier offers and support procurement.
- Coordinate technical interfaces with other disciplines, customers, suppliers, construction teams, and commissioning teams.
- Lead technical negotiations, supplier problem-solving, expediting activities, and equipment tests at supplier facilities.
- Support installation and commissioning, address technical queries, and identify system improvements and their impact on scope, schedule, and performance.
Requirements
- University degree in mechanical engineering, process engineering, mechatronics, or a similar field.
- Experience in project management for international turnkey plants.
- Knowledge of hardware selection, technical documentation, standards, and guidelines.
- Fluent English and willingness to undertake relevant international business trips.
- Teamwork, analytical, communication, learning, initiative, motivation, and results-oriented skills.
