Launch Welder III (Aerospace)

Location: Cape Canaveral, Florida; on-site work is required at a government partner location.

Salary: $33.20–$49.80 USD per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

What you will do

• Fabricate, fit, weld, and install piping systems, mechanical assemblies, process piping, utility systems, and ground support infrastructure.
• Use TIG, MIG, FCAW, and stick welding processes on carbon steel, stainless steel, and other applicable alloys.
• Read engineering drawings, piping isometrics, fabrication prints, weld procedures, specifications, and welding symbols.
• Operate grinders, beveling tools, saws, pipe preparation equipment, drills, and cutting tools.
• Support system installation, testing, field integration, commissioning, and launch-site operations.
• Collaborate with engineering, fabrication, construction, operations, and management teams while maintaining safety, quality, and schedule requirements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional welding and fabrication experience, including pipe welding and industrial systems.
• Experience with multiple welding processes, including TIG, MIG, FCAW, and stick welding.
• Experience fitting, fabricating, and installing piping systems or mechanical assemblies according to drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Experience operating fabrication tools, shop equipment, forklifts, reach lifts, man lifts, or similar equipment.
• Ability to work in an active construction or industrial environment, lift up to 40 pounds, and use required personal protective equipment.
• Successful candidates must pass a US government-administered background check to obtain clearance for on-site work at the government partner location.

Nice to have

• AWS, ASME, or equivalent welding certification.
• Experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel, specialty alloys, or similar materials.
• Experience in aerospace, power generation, shipbuilding, petrochemical, heavy industrial, or similar environments.
• Experience supporting field construction, commissioning, launch-site operations, or other safety-critical installation environments.
