Senior Welder and Fabrication Technician (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Long Beach, California, United States. Full-time, non-exempt position on the 2nd shift from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, with up to 10% travel.

Salary: $45.10–$64.02 per hour in California.

What you will do

• Weld Haven structures for human spaceflight using Class A aluminum welding processes.
• Operate mechanized and robotic welding equipment and set up welding equipment and jig tables.
• Fabricate and weld tooling, fit and form parts, and handle raw materials and finished weldments.
• Inspect fabricated parts for geometry acceptance and weld conformance.
• Diagnose weld defects, perform repairs, and recommend process optimizations.
• Collaborate with Engineering to improve tools and solve fabrication problems.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of Class A TIG welding experience.
• At least 5 years of fabrication and forming experience, preferably in aerospace welding.
• Experience reading engineering blueprints and following written and verbal instructions.
• Experience working with X-ray technicians and other non-destructive testing methods.
• Experience with automated or robotic welding; VPPAW experience is preferred.
• Must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing due to U.S. export control requirements. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and work evenings or weekends when required.
