Manufacturing Engineer II / Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Fluid Systems)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States. U.S. office candidates must meet applicable ITAR eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, refugee or asylum status, or authorization from the U.S. Department of State and/or Department of Commerce.

Base pay range: $100,000–$165,000 USD per year. Level and base salary depend on job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.

What you will do

• Develop, perform, and qualify precision welding and fabrication methods for tubing components.
• Use TIG, MIG, OTW, and related welding processes to meet aerospace structural requirements.
• Inspect welded components using NDE/NDT methods and resolve identified defects.
• Work with design engineering, production, quality, and supply chain teams on specifications, process changes, and complex manufacturing problems.
• Lead containment, root-cause, corrective-action, and non-conformance investigations.
• Plan equipment, machinery, layout, ERP, production, quality, and data-process improvements using Lean/Six Sigma techniques.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, aerospace engineering, or another engineering discipline.
• Manufacturing Engineer II: 2+ years of experience developing and introducing fabrication methods such as OTW, TIG, proof testing, and cleaning.
• Senior Manufacturing Engineer: 5+ years of experience developing and introducing fabrication methods such as OTW, TIG, proof testing, and cleaning.
• Manufacturing Engineer II: experience setting up or operating a tube shop or build area.
• Senior Manufacturing Engineer: experience setting up and operating a tube shop or build area.
• For U.S. office work, eligibility to access ITAR-regulated technology and data is required.

Nice to have

• 8+ years of experience developing and introducing fabrication methods.
• Experience designing tooling in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of metalworking and fabrication processes.
• Ability to create concise presentations for design, manufacturing, and quality audiences.
• Hands-on approach, continuous improvement mindset, and ability to solve complex problems independently.
