Welder and Fabrication Technician III (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Weld Haven structures for human spaceflight using Class A aluminum welding processes.
• Operate mechanized and robotic welding equipment and set up welding equipment and jig tables.
• Fit, form, clean, and fabricate parts and tooling for Haven structures.
• Inspect fabricated parts for geometry acceptance and weld conformance.
• Diagnose weld defects and recommend corrective actions for repairs and process optimization.
• Collaborate with Engineering on tooling improvements and problem solving while handling raw materials and finished weldments.

Requirements

• 4+ years of Class A TIG welding experience.
• 4+ years of fabrication and forming experience.
• Ability to read engineering blueprints and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Familiarity with x-ray technicians and other NDT techniques.
• Must be a U.S. person under U.S. export control regulations or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.
• Ability to travel up to 10%, work evenings or weekends when required, and lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.

Nice to have

• 5+ years of Class A aerospace welding experience.
• Automated or robotic welding experience, preferably VPPAW.
• Experience with vertical bandsaws, sanding equipment, and other metal fabrication tools.
• Experience working in a fast-paced production environment.
