Digital Transformation Specialist (AI)

Location: Hybrid (remote/office) in Portugal, Lisbon/Amadora. Occasional international travel is required.

What you will do

• Support Transformer and Switchgear engineering teams with process improvement, digitalization, automation, data, and AI initiatives.
• Analyze end-to-end engineering workflows, identify waste and handoff issues, and design more efficient future-state processes.
• Coordinate initiatives from opportunity identification and requirements definition through pilots, implementation, rollout, adoption, and benefit tracking.
• Identify and develop practical AI use cases, including problem definition, data assessment, proof of concept, MVP development, and rollout.
• Translate engineering and business needs into requirements for IT, data, automation, and AI delivery partners.
• Track cycle-time, quality, productivity, and user-adoption improvements while supporting communication, training, and change activities.

Requirements

• University degree in Engineering, Business, Information Technology, Digital Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Several years of experience in process improvement, digital transformation, automation, AI, product management, or project delivery, ideally in an industrial environment.
• Experience taking digital or automation initiatives from requirements and prototyping through implementation, adoption, and benefit tracking.
• Understanding of AI opportunities and limitations, with the ability to identify realistic use cases and collaborate with technical specialists.
• Strong project coordination, stakeholder management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Fluency in English is required; occasional international travel is expected.

Nice to have

• Experience with SAP, PLM, workflow platforms, data and analytics solutions, automation tools, or applied AI.
• Lean or Six Sigma certification.
