Principal AI Platform Architect

Location: Foster City, United States

Salary: $185,000–$220,000 per year base salary, excluding incentive compensation and potential equity grants.

hirify.global is hiring an architect to build the enterprise data and AI foundation for secure, scalable AI adoption.

What you will do

• Define the architectural vision, reference architectures, principles, and guardrails for AI-first capabilities.
• Design agentic runtimes, tool integrations, model gateways, retrieval and grounding, policy enforcement, identity, and secure data access.
• Build and optimize batch and streaming data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and lakehouse pipelines across enterprise systems.
• Establish data models, governance, lineage, data quality frameworks, and AI-ready access through feature, embedding, and vector capabilities.
• Design secure, compliant, scalable cloud infrastructure and build APIs and reusable platform services for AI and application teams.
• Drive reliability, performance, cost efficiency, scalability, SLOs, observability, and foundational MLOps/LLMOps readiness.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in data engineering, platform engineering, or data architecture.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native design, modern AI architectures, LLM serving, RAG, and agentic orchestration.
• Experience building production AI systems and enterprise-scale data platforms or lakehouse architectures.
• Hands-on experience with batch and streaming pipelines, distributed data processing, and AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, or an equivalent language, plus knowledge of security, access control, and enterprise data management.
• Excellent executive communication and the ability to guide teams from concept through production.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI/ML or GenAI workloads, vector databases, embeddings, or feature engineering pipelines.
• Exposure to event-driven or real-time data architectures.
• Experience with complex enterprise application ecosystems such as CRM, ERP, HR, and integration platforms.
• Experience in product-based, high-scale, or global environments.
