Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; onsite. The position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information, so candidates must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.

Salary: $112,000–$230,000 USD per year, depending on level and qualifications.

What you will do

• Own Haven-2 factory layout, production system architecture, floor plans, work-center configurations, and future-state factory design.
• Lead DFM/DFA reviews, manufacturing readiness activities, and design, manufacturing, and production readiness reviews.
• Define production metrics such as throughput, cycle time, first-pass yield, and capacity utilization, and build the data infrastructure and reporting systems to monitor them.
• Run Lean, Six Sigma, value-stream, time-and-motion, and process-standardization initiatives to improve throughput and reduce cycle time.
• Develop manufacturing documentation, qualify tooling and equipment, and lead process validation, FAI, and AS9100 certification activities.
• Present production performance and corrective-action plans to manufacturing, quality, supply chain, engineering, and operations leadership.

Requirements

• Demonstrated expertise in Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma, with measurable results in throughput improvement, cycle-time reduction, and process standardization.
• Experience with time-and-motion analysis such as MOST or Yamazumi and with establishing standard work.
• Hands-on experience creating process plans, routings, and work instructions under AS9100 or an equivalent quality management system.
• Strong manufacturing data and analytics skills, including metrics, dashboards, and decision-making with Tableau, Power BI, or SQL.
• Strong cross-functional communication and project management experience across multiple manufacturing initiatives and stakeholders.
• Must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.

Nice to have

• Lean or Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification with quantified project results.
• Experience with AS9100 certification, audits, MRR, PRR, FAI, PFMEA, process validation, or aerospace quality planning.
• Familiarity with MES or ERP/MRP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, or Aligni.
• CAD or facility-planning experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent tools.
• Experience scaling complex aerospace or space hardware from LRIP to high-rate production and building integrated production reporting systems.
