Fabrication Technician

What you will do

• Fabricate vehicle components, structural assemblies, custom test fixtures, and R&D hardware using TIG welding, sheet metal techniques, and general metalworking.
• Perform high-quality horizontal, vertical, and overhead welds on aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel.
• Operate Flow Waterjet equipment and maintain manual mills, lathes, and grinders.
• Interpret engineering drawings, technical documents, CAD models, and precise fabrication instructions.
• Assemble structural and fluid systems, including tubes, brackets, and associated hardware.
• Collaborate with engineers on prototype builds, DFMA feedback, dimensional checks, weld inspections, NDT preparation, and process improvement.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on fabrication experience in a fast-paced prototyping or production environment.
• Proficiency in TIG welding aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel.
• Experience with sheet metal fabrication, structural assembly, mechanical integration, and Flow Waterjet operation.
• Familiarity with manual machining, general metalworking tools, machining principles, tolerancing, and GD&T.
• Ability to review CAD models and technical drawings using software such as Siemens NX or SOLIDWORKS.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; export-controlled work may require eligibility to access technology under U.S. export control regulations without sponsorship for an export license.

Nice to have

• Experience with stick welding, dual-shield welding, press brake operation and programming, fixture and part design, or woodworking.
• Background in aerospace, defense, or advanced R&D environments.
