Manager, Engineering

Location: Long Beach, California, United States. The role is subject to U.S. export-control requirements.

Salary: $150,000–$215,000 USD per year, California pay range.

What you will do

• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams through spacecraft hardware design, integration, testing, and delivery.
• Own the product lifecycle from concept and requirements definition through manufacturing, verification, qualification, and operations.
• Coordinate manufacturing, supply chain, quality, testing, and program management for hardware delivery and integration.
• Set organizational priorities, staffing plans, roadmaps, and resources to meet program milestones.
• Drive technical decisions, risk management, design reviews, trade studies, root-cause investigations, and corrective actions.
• Mentor engineers and managers while leading recruiting, performance management, succession planning, and supplier relationships.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, electrical, or chemical engineering, physics, or a related technical discipline.
• 6+ years of engineering experience in aerospace or another safety-critical industry.
• 3+ years of technical leadership or engineering management experience.
• Experience leading complex hardware or integrated-system development across multiple lifecycle phases.
• Strong systems integration, engineering development processes, first-principles engineering, trade studies, and engineering review experience.
• Must be a U.S. person under applicable export-control rules or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.

Nice to have

• Experience managing spacecraft, flight hardware, or mission-critical systems teams.
• Experience scaling engineering organizations in high-growth environments.
• Knowledge of hardware verification, qualification testing, and aerospace certification practices.
• Experience with CAD, engineering analysis tools, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and engineering drawing review.
• Background in structural, thermal, propulsion, fluids, or integrated spacecraft systems.
