Senior Engineer, Air Vehicle Fluid Systems (R4891)

Location: On-site in Dallas, Texas or San Diego, California, United States

Salary: $110,000–$160,000 per year, plus bonus, benefits, and equity for regular full-time employees

What you will do

• Design components and liquid cooling and hydraulic fluid systems for the X-BAT VTOL military UAV.
• Perform fluid-system and component analysis, sizing, and requirements management.
• Engage with suppliers and own multiple aspects of the aircraft’s fluid systems.
• Execute rigorous design, build, and test activities at speed.
• Support ground and flight test campaigns, system checkout, and failure investigations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and systems-safety teams on reliability and safety.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• 5+ years of experience with fluid or hydraulic system design, component design, system analysis, supplier management, or requirements management.
• Strong CAD skills; NX is preferred.
• Proficiency in fluid or hydraulic system analysis, including first-principles methods, Simscape, or Amesim.
• Ability to work independently in fast-paced, cross-functional teams.
• Ability to obtain a Secret/SAR-level security clearance is desired.

Nice to have

• Experience with vibration and shock, thermal extremes, contamination, corrosion, sand, and dust.
• Familiarity with DFMEA, FTA, fault containment, and safe-state methods.
