Senior Vehicle Structures Engineer (Aerospace)

Hiring range: $132,000–$198,000 USD annually

Develops Terran R rockets and launch infrastructure to deliver customer payloads to orbit and expand commercial launch capacity.

What you will do

• Conceptualize structural load paths, complex structures, and adjacent-system packaging for Terran R.
• Review static and dynamic load inputs, material properties, test data, and structural requirements.
• Analyze and size flight structures, complete design reviews, and release engineering drawings.
• Design flight components using NX and TeamCenter, perform analysis with Nastran, ANSYS, or hand calculations, and own designs from requirements through production.
• Develop and support hardware test campaigns, including test integration, operation, and result evaluation.
• Support manufacturing process development while reducing mass, parts, processes, and tooling.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a design engineering role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Experience with industry-standard CAD packages such as NX, Creo, or SolidWorks.
• Working knowledge of structural analysis, including hand calculations, finite element methods, industry tools, and testing.
• At least 1 year of experience working on structures strengths.
• Ability to lead projects to completion, work collaboratively, document technical work, and present recommendations.

Nice to have

• 5+ years of mechanical or structural design and analysis experience.
• Experience with NX and TeamCenter.
• Experience using Nastran and ANSYS.
• Experience with GD&T and drafting.
