Weld Engineer I (Aerospace)

Salary: $90,000–$136,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Develop and optimize fusion welding processes for Terran R.
• Support manufacturing teams during welding operations and troubleshoot production issues.
• Act as the accountable weld engineer for stage hardware including transfer tubes, fluid assemblies, grid fins, bellows, and heat shields.
• Ensure welding process quality control and documentation meet applicable standards.
• Implement corrective actions and continuous improvements to maintain high-quality production outputs.

Requirements

• B.S. in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of experience with welding processes such as GTAW, GMAW, OTW, or laser welding.
• Knowledge of industry specifications such as AWS, ASME, or similar standards.
• At least 1 year of experience in a fast-paced production manufacturing environment.
• Curiosity, bias for action, a hands-on approach, and strong ownership.

Nice to have

• B.S. or M.S. degree in Welding Engineering.
• Fusion welding experience, especially with GTAW or laser welding.
