Senior Welding Engineer (Aerospace)

Salary: $144,000–$180,000 base pay annually

What you will do

• Lead process design and scale-up for specialized joining projects from development through production ramp.
• Commission laser, TIG, sintering, ultrasonic, and other joining equipment and systems.
• Develop SOPs, work instructions, control plans, equipment specifications, tooling requirements, and control strategies.
• Drive Design for Manufacturability in collaboration with Product Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and materials and process teams.
• Design and run experiments for process validation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with equipment vendors and engineering teams to resolve process–equipment integration challenges.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, Manufacturing, or a related engineering field, or equivalent proven experience.
• 2+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a specialized, precision-process environment.
• Experience with welding/joining, materials processing, soldering/brazing, precision assembly, test equipment design, or another advanced manufacturing process.
• Hands-on troubleshooting, root cause analysis, corrective action, and process parameter validation experience.
• Strong proficiency with NX, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD and PLM/ERP systems.
• Ability to read and create mechanical drawings and produce clear technical documentation.

Nice to have

• Experience with high-voltage systems, PLCs, vision systems, sensors, or industrial automation.
• Background in aerospace, EV, medical device, or semiconductor manufacturing.
• Familiarity with DOE, advanced process validation, MES, or Teamcenter.
